Things to note when installing outdoor infrared cameras

When installing infrared cameras outdoors, common faults often come from the installation details. It is recommended to pay attention to:

  • Avoid lens reflections: Do not place the camera lens close to walls, eaves or metal plates. Infrared light will be reflected back to the lens and cause the picture to appear white.
  • Be waterproof: The cable connector must be placed in a waterproof box with the connector facing downwards and wrapped with waterproof tape to prevent rainwater from penetrating along the network cable.
  • Installation height: 3-4 meters is recommended. Too high will cause the overlooking angle of the face to be too large, affecting the recognition effect.
  • avoid bright light: Do not face strong light sources such as street lamps and billboards. If necessary, use a wide dynamic model or adjust the orientation.
  • Ground lightning protection: It is recommended that outdoor equipment be equipped with lightning protectors and be reliably grounded.
